A leading hip hop and urban dance organisation founded in 2002 by
Joel De Andrade and Karen Galsgaard. Hotstepper is home to many of Dk’s finest and has grown into a recognised brand with international activities, events, clothing and sponsorship.

25+ YEARS EXPERIENCE
Since 1989 - personal dance experiences, interviews and workshops with legends, international dance travel and networking and our studies from leading universities have given input for our passion to design the ultimate hip hop and urban dance education.
INTERNATIONAL GATEWAY
Hotstepper has a global dance network, is often visited by international dancers, and alumni are based and travelling overseas. Thus a perfect gateway to the international dance scene.
AUTHENTIC DANCE
The course contains classic hip hop and urban styles including traditions and the culture, but also insight into the dance industry with classes and advice from successful working dancers.
ALUMNI SUCCESS
We have a high rate of successful graduates. Their accomplishments stand out in both commercial and underground scenes to include winning and judging major competitions, working in theatre and industry, touring international, organising events and starting full-time dance companies.

We want our students to succeed and to realise their potential. We help them in the direction they want to follow. This means support in many ways ranging from sharing contacts, giving feedback and sparring, recommendations and ongoing career advice as well as a base they can return to.
FACULTY
The education is the passion project of Hotstepper founders Joel De Andrade and Karen Galsgaard. They have underground and commercial experience with a long list of credits including winners of the first Scandinavian Battle Of The Year – the biggest title within breaking in Scandinavia at the time. Within dance, they have been teaching, practicing, travelling and networking in 25+ countries since the 90’s. They have a lot of experience, contacts and knowledge as well as their university studies within business and management to draw upon when adding input to- and selecting teachers for the course.

The faculty is a selection high level teachers. Over 100 leading Danish and international dancers have taught at the education. Pioneers like Mr Wiggles, Loose Joint, Babson and Yugson - top choreographers like Superdave and Marty Kudelka - new generation legends such as Misha Gabriel, Brian Puspos, Pacman and Kapela.
